About Us
Welcome to the City of Hebron!
Hebron sits in a picturesque valley in the southwest county of Morton, where the Little Knife River zigzags back and forth along its path towards the Missouri River. With a population of nearly 800 residents, Hebron is a community anchored by bricks and agriculture with a sustainable and prosperous future.
Founded in 1885, the seeds for Hebron were sown like most Dakota Territory towns…an ideal location on the Northern Pacific Railroad with plenty of available farm and grazing land nearby, a store, and a church.
Hebron’s ideal location remains one of its greatest assets. Located 2 miles north of Interstate 94 between Bismarck and Dickinson, easy access to this major trade and travel route offers residents the convenience they need while providing the tranquility, privacy, and peacefulness they desire. Or take the Old Red Old Ten Scenic Byway from Hebron as an alternative route with a view and a laid back vibe.
Access to abundant year-round outdoor recreation opportunities can be found right out the back door while the comforts of a full service business community are just out the front door, and medical services are within minutes nearby. From groceries to restaurants, banks to service shops, art studios to gas stations, retail to professional services, a library and motel to a hometown weekly newspaper, the business vibe in Hebron is strong. Hebron’s K-12 school, new daycare center, Senior Center, Community Center, and our many churches and organizations help form the cornerstones of community life.
Responsible for Hebron’s nickname, the Hebron Brick Company was founded in 1904 and is the oldest manufacturing business in North Dakota. The brick company remains an anchor in the community to this day along with our strong and healthy farming and ranching heritage.
Hebron is a small town and a hometown. We invite you to visit and find your reason to stay awhile!
